OCWA has established a proactive Distribution Water Main Replacement Program. This program focuses on replacing small-diameter water mains (12” and under) in neighborhoods throughout our service area. The replacements are aimed at improving water quality, system reliability, increasing fire flow in some areas, and maintaining adequate flows throughout the system.

This program will help OCWA meet several goals in providing better service to its customers through an efficient approach to replacement by assessing pipeline conditions and setting a schedule for replacement, which will in turn:

  • Minimize service disruptions from emergency main replacements
  • Work to eliminate the cost of repeated pipeline repairs and the disruptions to communities
