OCWA – Central New York’s Water Authority and GHD Consulting Services are performing soil conductivity surveys and soil sampling along select transmission main corridors as part of ongoing water infrastructure evaluation and planning.

Residents may see GHD staff conducting survey work within transmission main rights-of-way. These routine, non-invasive activities help identify soil conditions that may affect buried infrastructure and support the long-term planning, maintenance, and reliability of the water system.

The survey activities may occur along portions of the following transmission main corridors:

    • Manlius/Dewitt
    • Salina
    • Schroeppel/Volney
    • Van Buren
    • Marcellus

These activities are separate from and not connected to the Eastern Branch and Clear Water Transmission Main projects.
