On Thursday, October 16, we welcomed Onondaga County elected officials and community leaders to OCWA’s Otisco Lake Water Treatment Plant for our Local Water Matters Day, held in coordination with the national Imagine A Day Without Water campaign. They toured the facility, heard from our team, and learned about our treatment process.
The event was part of a statewide effort led by the New York Section of the American Water Works Association to raise awareness about the essential role water plays in our communities–from safeguarding public health and supporting local economies, to protecting our environment and ensuring public safety.
Imagine a Day Without Water is a national campaign led by the US Water Alliance that challenges people to consider how they would function without access to clean, safe water, and inspires action to ensure no one has to.
