The Central New York Branch of the American Public Works Association (APWA) held its annual awards banquet in Canastota on February 15, 2024.  OCWA — Central New York’s Water Authority — was honored to come away with several awards.

Kevin Crouse, who serves as an underground facility locator at OCWA, received the “Exemplary Service to Public Works” award for his 48 years of dedicated public works service to OCWA.  Kevin started as a summer laborer with OCWA at the age of 17, and began fulltime employment in August 1976!  His fellow OCWA coworkers congratulate him on a well-deserved achievement.

At this same event, OCWA received two additional awards for two recently completed capital projects: the Howlett Hill Tank Rehabilitation and the Fairmount Reservoir Improvements. These water infrastructure projects will help OCWA continue to deliver safe and reliable water to our customers.

The CNY branch of the APWA represents the counties, cities, towns, and villages within a ten-county area of the region.  Membership consists of a wide range of public works leaders including elected officials, municipal employees, consulting engineers, suppliers of public works materials, equipment, and services along with other individuals committed to excellence in the public works fields.
