On January 29, 2024, members of OCWA — Central New York’s Water Authority’s administration team joined other water industry leaders from across the state for One Water Legislative Day in Albany, organized by the New York One Water Coalition (NYOWC).
The advocacy event started with a legislative breakfast, followed by one-on-one meetings with state legislative offices on priority issues that included water infrastructure funding, workforce development, and lead line replacement funding. OCWA members met with Senators John Mannion and Rachel May and Assembly Members Will Barclay, William Magnarelli, Al Stirpe, Pamela Hunter, and John Lemondes. OCWA also met with staff in the offices of Senator Robert Jackson and Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato to discuss civil service reforms.
