This week, members of the OCWA management team were in Albany to take part in the American Water Works Association, New York Section’s first-ever in person Lobby Day. The “One Water” legislative breakfast included insightful briefings from water industry experts and key state legislators on such issues as water quality standards, infrastructure, and workforce recruitment.
OCWA staff also met with key legislators and/or staff from the CNY region to include Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay, Assemblyman William Magnarelli, Assemblyman Al Stirpe, Assemblywoman Pam Hunter, Senator John Mannion, Senator Rachel May, and Senator Pam Helming. We were honored to be recognized on the Assembly floor for OCWA’s critical 24/7 mission of providing safe, reliable and affordable water to Central New York.
The 2023 State Legislative Session runs through the beginning of June. We will continue to provide updates on our advocacy efforts as the year progresses.
