Syracuse, NY – HomeServe, a leading provider of home repair solutions, today announced the launch of a new partnership with the Onondaga County Water Authority (OCWA). This week, OCWA customers will receive an introductory mailing to inform them about optional water service line repair plans available through HomeServe. These plans will be offered to the approximately 94,000 households served by OCWA in the Central New York counties of Onondaga, Oswego, Madison, Oneida and Cayuga. Additional service plans from HomeServe covering in-home plumbing repairs will also be available.

The service plans offered to OCWA customers through HomeServe are an affordable solution that protects them from the high cost and inconvenience of home repair emergencies, including water service line leaks on their property and in-home plumbing or drainage issues. Many homeowners are unaware they are responsible for maintaining and repairing the water lines through their property, or that that these types of repairs are often not covered by basic homeowner’s insurance policies, leaving them vulnerable to unexpected costs as a result of these types of home emergencies.

“Water line repairs on private property can cost thousands of dollars, blindsiding homeowners with an unplanned financial burden,” said Tom Rusin, CEO of HomeServe USA. “These service plans will provide OCWA customers with protection and coverage for such repairs and ensure that reputable local contractors complete the work, giving homeowners back some peace of mind.”

“OCWA is pleased to offer our customers repair plan options offered through HomeServe,” said Michael Hooker, Executive Director of OCWA. “We believe these plans will aid homeowners in the event of an unexpected repair emergency and the cost and inconvenience associated with them.”

HomeServe plan holders will have access to a Repair Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and bring local, licensed, and insured contractors to their home for repairs. The Water Service Line Coverage is available now for a $4.49 per month. HomeServe will also offer Interior Plumbing and Drainage System Coverage for $9.99 per month.

Onondaga County Water Authority customers can learn more about these optional plans as well as HomeServe by visiting the website or calling 1-844-613-7701 for more information.
