In light of recent events in the Town of Salina, regarding individuals posing as water company employees, please be advised of your right to demand proper identification from any Onondaga County Water Authority (OCWA) personnel at your door.

Demand OCWA I.D.:

All OCWA employees carry an identification card issued by the Onondaga County Water Authority and they have been instructed to have it available at all times and to present it upon demand.

The identification card includes the OCWA logo, a picture of the employee and their employee number on the front.  All identification cards are signed by the employee and the Executive Director of the Authority and contain OCWA’s address and phone number.

In addition to carrying identification, OCWA personnel will arrive at your home or business in a distinctive Authority owned vehicle that clearly displays the OCWA logo on the doors of the vehicle.

In the event you are still unsure as to whether or not the person at your door is an OCWA employee you can refuse access.  In such cases our staff has been instructed to politely back off when challenged and they will not enter your home or business without your consent.

When in doubt:  If you are still unsure as to whether or not the individual attempting to gain access to your home is an OCWA employee, please secure your door and contact us immediately at 315-455-7061, extension 3335, or contact your local law enforcement agency.
